The Road Trip

We bravely decided to drive 18+ hours to visit Jeff's family (Josh's brother) in Florida for Thanksgiving.  As we embarked on our journey at 3:30 am I was torn between thinking this could be such a remarkable memory or that I had completely lost my mind!

Well here's what happened....
3:30 - Load up my alarm clock - Brody - and Landon ---note to self Landon is much happier and nicer at 3:30 am than his normal wake up time....hmmmm ALMOST worth getting up that early
Silence.........for 18 long minutes.....
3:48 - pulling onto highway 64, Landon: is this the road to cousin Zoe's house?  Me: Yes, sort of.  Landon: Yeah!!! We're almost there!  18 minutes into 18 hour trip -- this could be a long ride!
Silence....
5:30 - Landon:  somewhat delirious...This is a magic car! Me:  Umm, okay.
Silence....
7:45 - Brody wakes up and starts grunting...guess it's breakfast time
Stop for breakfast and then silence for another 4 hours!!
12:00 - gets a little hairy...Landon is HYPER and Brody is getting fussy, but thank God it's brief and miraculously everyone is back asleep in about 10 min.!
SILENCE!!
We stop in Valdosta, Georgia for dinner and to stay overnight at a Days Inn...clean and nice enough, but Landon exclaims..Wow!  This is the most awesome place in the world!   Well, someone's easy to please!
We finish the remaining drive the next day and arrive at Jeff's sooner than expected!
Our 18 hour ride had less than 18 minutes of tears combined between Landon and Brody.  Nothing short of a miracle with a 9 month old and 3 year old!  It was easier than a day at home!!  Still in shock and feel like something bad should happen.  Eerily calm and smooth, but I'll take it!  Thanks GOD!!
