Happy Easter!!

We had some friends over from small group to do an Easter egg hunt and learn what Easter is all about.  We asked the kids why we celebrate Easter and some of the responses were... because Jesus was born, it's the day God put lots of rainbows in the sky, etc.  After our story using resurrection eggs they know we celebrate Easter because JESUS IS ALIVE!! Landon has still been running and dancing around the house cheering that Jesus is alive.  Some pics from the day...

Landon was more excited about opening the eggs rather than finding them.  In fact, after he found his first one - he sat down so excited to open it.  I love how little it takes to make children happy - maybe one of the reasons I love children so much!
Landon's friend Tyler loving on Brody.  So sweet!

Delaney had fun cruising around on the scooter!
Landon's friend Claire - Love that face!

We had a great day and hope you all have a fabulous Easter!!

Ready for April Showers...

Thanks to Mema Maggos for providing the gear!

I didn't see this on the infomercial...

Josh and I are both trying to lose some lbs and get back into better shape.  Inspired by a late night infomercial while feeding Brody - I ordered the P90x workout for us to do together.  It is quite an intense regimen and is proving to be a challenge - especially with two needy little boys.  My water breaks provided in the videos usually consist of changing diapers, replacing a binky, or making sure Landon is still napping or watching his favorite tv show.  Or if I'm really lucky - Landon provides extra resistance and weight by hanging on my leg!  Tony Horton (personal trainer in the videos) never showed that in his examples!  So far - despite these obstacles - we are starting to lose weight, so hopefully it continues and I'll have some hot after pics to post!  (I've been sporting before pics for the last 28 years....)  I think Brody is inspired as well - he is doing arm pumps even as he sleeps.

Adventures

Landon loves to pretend and go on "adventures" around the house. We have gone on safaris to look for his play animals, used flashlights to go through caves, and gone on camping trips. He loves to get prepared with his backpack and gear.

Swallow him like a burrito...

Landon loved to be swaddled and enjoys when we swaddle Brody. You can often hear him saying, "Mommy swallow Brody like a burrito!"

Hippee it's a spydiscope!

Landon's vocabulary continues to grow and amaze me. He typically speaks clearly and uses the right words, but these are two of my favorite made up words that he says....

HIPPEE - yells this when he is excited. He combined yipee and hooray to make up this word.

SPYDISCOPE - what he calls a telescope since he uses it to spy on things.

Best Face Forward?

Well, Landon got his first major boo-boo today when he fell out of his stroller.
Unfortunately, his face caught the fall.

Not to be outdone by his brother, Brody shows off some mean baby acne.

Imperfections and all, I love my sweet boys!

Crazy Hair = Crazy Day

It was crazy hair day at school, so here is Landon sporting his do. Ironically, bright orange hair and all, he ended up getting lost at school. When I went to pick him up, he was not in his class and no one knew where he was. We ended up finding him still playing in the gym by the fitness equipment. He told me he was working out!! Well I am glad he wants to be fit, but he gave me a heart attack! Soo, soooo, sooooo thankful my baby boy was okay. It is amazing how fast things can happen and change in life, and I was so glad to hold him in my arms. Thank you God!!

The Name Game

Landon loves his little brother and is adjusting to his arrival quite well, but he has really been missing his mommy time. I have been trying to do things to focus just on him, so my latest interaction was the name game. I hid the 6 letters of his name around the house and he had to find them. Then, he had to put them in order and practice writing his name. I thought the excitement would last a few minutes, but we ended up playing for over an hour and he can now spell his name.

Meet the boys...

BRODY

LANDON

JOSH AND ME

I have been toying with the idea of having a blog for a while, but now that Brody has joined our family, I decided to take the plunge. I love being a mom and doing lots of stuff with my boys, but I am terrible at taking pictures and capturing their childhood. I hope this will force me to be better about documenting our memories.
