The letter T

We were practicing writing the letter t at school and this was Landon's handiwork...

The last line of this cracks me up. He was tired of crossing his t's, so he drew one big line across and went at it. Apparently someone is a major fan of efficiency just like his daddy.

Yes Brody, I am a horrible mother...

Lately Brody has been a terror bit of a handful.  He has protested my parenting techniques and continued to perfect his tantrum throwing skills when I...

- would not let him eat a jelly bean that had been freshly peed on (Brody walked into the bathroom with a jelly bean while Landon was going - put it in the stream - and then attempted to eat the wet candy before mom broke out her ninja skills and intercepted the bean)

- plays splish-splash in every toilet he can find - umm, yes 5 outfit changes were the result this week

- head butting the wall and/or my legs

- making the couch his canvas with a black pen (Josh: "I only turned my head for a second."  Ah - yes, The first mistake with a crazy 2 year old ;)

- trying to eat the remainder of a carrot enjoyed by our pet bunny Rex

Yes Brody, I am a horrible mother, but hopefully one day you'll thank me!

And then there was day 4...

Well the cleanse has been going much better than I anticipated.  It really hasn't been that hard, and the energy I've had has been amazing.  The best part is I haven't had any cravings. I mean yes some things sound way more appealing than the constant fruit and veggies, but I have had almost no desire for sweets - which is not the norm!
Josh is doing this "adventure" with me and is not enjoying the experience so much.  He is sooo missing meat.  "This diet is retarded and was definitely made by a girl."  "Isn't popcorn a vegetable?  What about nuts?"  And thus - he caved today and order a chicken sandwich at McDonalds.  Way to go babe - thanks for the moral support ;)  Honestly, I am impressed that he managed this long as he whined of his near death starvation the last few days.
But we are still trucking along - and I am happy to say that half way through I have lost 6 pounds!  Woot Woot!!
However, after finishing the day with 7 bananas and 3 glasses of milk, neither of which I really love, I would be okay if I never had another banana. The scientific part of the cleanse study read...you will be surprised how easy this day will be.  LIES!!  Definitely the worst day by far!

The Cleanse...

Josh and I have started a week long cleanse diet that I found on pinterest.  Probably the strangest instructions ever for a diet, but we are 2 days in and so far so good.  Here's the crazy instructions...

Day 1 - Eat only fruit, except bananas
Day 2 - Eat a baked potato for breakfast, and then only veggies the rest of the day, but no more potatoes
Day 3 - Eat only fruits and veggies, but no bananas or potatoes
Day 4 - Eat up to 8 bananas and 3 glasses of milk
Day 5 - Eat 20 oz. of lean red meat (ground beef is okay) and 6 whole tomatoes
Day 6 - Eat only lean red meat and veggies, no limit
Day 7 - Eat only brown rice, fruit juice, and veggies

After 7 days, diet says you will be 10-17 lbs lighter.  Well, this part sounded good and I have lost about 8 pounds since the new year, but needed a jump start to keep losing weight, so here it goes.  We decided to be guinea pigs and try it.

Day one was a success - I LOVE fruit, so not so hard.  And score - 2 lbs lost.
Day two - a little more difficult as I do not love veggies, but really not so bad.  I will weigh myself in the morning to see how the results are going.

Oh and you also get to eat this cabbage soup stuff - that really is WAY better than I thought.  So the cleanse (makes me want to say it like....the claw) really isn't so bad.  I like that it changes each day and keeps you on your toes.  Not a fan of monotony!  And extra bonus - I have felt awesome!!  Tons of energy, no bloating, just an occasional hunger pang.  So bring on day 3!

Bite you!!

Brody went through a brief biting stage, but thankfully it is over. However, he is obsessed with talking about it. This little boy Brandon in his class has bitten him on several occasions, so now if he is mad at any of us he threatens in a deep voice....Brandon bite you!!! As he points at us. So funny!

Here's an example on video, albeit a calm version of his normal threats ;)

Shadows

We talked about shadows/groundhogs day at school, so I captured all of my kids shadows as an art project. Here's all of our future presidential silhouettes and then my favorite one :). Never realized what a strong profile Landon had!

Literal Love

One thing I absolutely love about kids is how literal they take everything.

Here's some examples I recently enjoyed from landon....

Playing a game with my mom she told him to repeat I have wisdom 10 times, so he said..I have wisdom 10 times.

I always remind Landon to shake after going #1 and rather than shake his "stuff" he shakes his head and body like a dog.

A new teacher shadowed me at work and I asked him, what did you think about mrs ashley?
I didn't think of her at all.
No, I mean was she nice? Oh yeah she's nice.
